Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) are pesticides and industry chemicals that persist in the environment and have been of concern to the European Union (EU). The European Union's 1907/2006 Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of ChemicalsÌý(REACH) regulation addresses the production and use of chemical substances.
